American Idol? I think NOT!

Let it be said, American Idol is rigged! I've always thought this, but I know for sure this season, it's true!

First, have you ever noticed that they pick certain people to do "stories" about. Somehow 99% of those people end up making it to the top 12. Amazing they have such an accurate record, considering that the shows choosing the top 12 is not pre-recorded? Hmmm?? Have the producers already decided who they want to be the top 12?

Secondly, the whole Chris exit. Please, everyone in America wanted Chris to win. Everyone knew Chris was going to win. Personally I think there was some talking going on with him and the producers, he got a good offer and asked to be kicked. I have no proof of that, but it sounds good. I mean, come on, everyone knew Chris was going to win.

This week, it was down to Taylor, Katherine, and Elliott. On Wednesday's episode of Good Morning America, they showed footage of both Taylor and Katherine, but didn't of Elliott. Did they know over 12 hours in advance that Elliott was going to be kicked? Sounds suspicious to me, considering last week Taylor and Elliott were in the top 2 and dumb ole Katherine was in the bottom?? And, if we were paying attention to Simon's predictions about Elliott going home, let us not forget he predicted that with Katherine the week Chris was eliminated.

Also, there is no way that someone as mediocre as Katherine has made it to the final 2 unless American Idol is rigged! You can't make it all the way to the end with one good song. (Blast "Somewhere Over the Rainbow!") She doesn't have much of a personality. She tries to do way too many runs, attempting to cover up the fact that she can't successfully hold out a note.

Lastly, many people's complaints about Taylor is that he is a performer and he won't be too big of a star on CD. They say you only enjoy Taylor if you see him. Well, do we really think that Katherine has gotten this far on her voice? (see above paragraph) No, Katherine has gotten this far because she's pretty. Her wardrobe malfunction probably helped her gain a few more votes too.

To bring this rant to a conclusion, American Idol is not a nice democracy where America decides. It's not a reality TV show. It's all rigged! I'm ok with that, I suppose. As long as that dumb ole Katherine doesn't win!

uh oh. it seems we are at an impass...i would vote for katherine just to make sure taylor doesn't win! but it's ok, i still got love for ya....just none for taylor.

The Hurt and The Healer...Collide!

So the other day I simply prayed "God, if you aren't going to restore this relationship, help me move on.  I'm ready to be through with this."  A few hours later I had an email from him saying "I'm moving on.  If you want to discuss this, we can, but after that I can't speak to you anymore.  I need to make some decisions with a clear conscious."  And that was it.  Couldn't get more final than that!  Maybe if the email had come a few days or a week later.  But no, there was no mistaking this answer from God.  "You asked for it...poof!"  And there it was...the answer to what I had been praying for since September.  I'm not sure what made me pray that prayer that way on that day.  I'm not sure what made God answer the prayer with an email that quickly.  But whatever the reason, there was no denying that it was God. And of course, it wasn't the answer I wanted.  It was infuriating.  Why now God?  Why answer this prayer now?

The Next Chapter

My pastor decided to resign this morning. Instead of forcing anyone to vote yes or no against the ministry, he resigned. Those of us in support of his ministry left the Greenville United Pentecostal Church and are starting a new work, Grace Apostolic Fellowship. Our first service this morning was held at a local funeral home. After all the jokes about raising the dead, etc, we ended up having a great service with 97 people in attendance. We are believing God for a permanent home in the next 30 days. I am sad to leave UPC. That church was a haven to me during a hard time in my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without many of the people there. Numerous people invested in me, and I am grateful. I will never forget the love, friendships, and lessons I learned while a member there. I will not belittle my past with bitterness and act as if it means nothing to me.
