Interpreting God's Plan

Pardon me if this comes across as sacrilegious, but I thought it was funny. Izzie: But what if it's God's Plan? Addison: God's Plan is for you to be an adulteress? Izzie: God impregnated a virgin with magic. God's not playing by the rules. Just a little Grey's Anatomy to tide you over. I wrote an article about the Italy trip for ninetyandnine.net, so as soon as it comes out, I'll post my Italy blog.

The Perfect Day

**The entire Italy Blog is in progress, but to tide you over...** Today was one of those perfect days! It's already gotten warm outside, so I was able to wear a cute outfit with some cute sandals. I stopped at Burger King this morning and got some French toast sticks. I had plenty of prep-time this morning for my class, and I knew exactly what I was going to do. Last night in service, my pastor told us the Holy Spirit was impressing upon him to tell us a verse. It was the one "Ask and it shall be given you...". Well every morning a coach from school text messages me a bible scripture. The scripture today was none other than "Ask and it shall be given you..." It just seemed like confirmation that the Lord was going to do what I've asked. The day continued on well. I got several things accomplished. I went shopping with my mom after school and found lots of cute clothes for good prices. Also, I bought my brother tickets to a Lakers VS. Grizzly baseketball game

It was the Best of Times. It was the Worst of Times.

So my flight was canceled, but good ole Delta was going to check my luggage straight on into Milan, Italy so that I wouldn't have to deal with it at JFK. Unfortunately, something got lost in the translation and the baggage didn't make it with me on the flight. So there I was in Italy for 4 days without luggage! I will admit that the first day I was really upset. I called home and cried. I was jet lagged and wanted to take a shower, but I had nothing to change into. (No I didn't pack extra clothes in my carry-on. I'm not a girl scout.) I was rather humbled when I had to wash my clothes in the sink with a Tide packet! The hair dryer became my clothes dyer. I got real inventive! Luggage or no luggage, I was bound to have a good time! And a good time I did have! I shopped in Venice, rode a gondola through the Grand Canal while an Italian singer and accordion player accompanied us. I stood in awe at the site of Michelangelo's David and Sistine Chapel. I stood in St. Pete

Italy or Bust....Bust????

So I wake up bright and early, 5:00 am, get ready and head to the airport, only to find out that my flight has been cancelled! WHAT!? I have to be in JFK by 5:55 because that's when I'm flying out to Italy. They re-booked me on another flight that doesn't get me into JFK until 4:20! I realize that this kind of thing happens, but I'm going on an international flight. I need time to run across the airport, meet up with my group to get my tickets, get back through security, etc. Thankfully the people at the Delta desk were very helpful and were able to go ahead and check my baggage through to Italy. This way I don't have to go through the hassle of baggage claim. (Thank God!) I'm still going to be pushing it, but I should be fine. I called Lana, the chick in charge of the trip basically, and she said there were a few other people with cancelled flights. That does make me feel a little bit better. So now, I'm sitting at the hotel in Jackson where I stayed last n

Arrivederci

Ciao! I think I finally finished packing. It actually didn't take too long either! I purchased these packing zip-lock bags. You can suck the air out with a vacuum or push the air out and it zips up really tight. It's AMAZING! I fit all of my clothes into one suitcase and it's still under 50 lbs. I've never been so proud! Plus I've still got room and about 10 extra pounds left. Then there is always my carry on luggage! So I'm making space for the souvenirs. Other than finishing up the final things, I'm trying to brush up on a few Italian words. I know their is going to be that one person that's been learning Italian since he/she found out about the trip, doing web searches on everything, and will be an Italian expert before the trip. I can hear it now, "Well I goggled this, and read that..." So I decided I should at least do a little something so I'm not a total tourist reject! One friend did warn me, "Please don't be the ugly Ameri
