A good friend of mine from church took his life Saturday afternoon.

He had just texted me Thursday evening and told me that he loved me and hoped that everyone at the church knew how much he cared about us.

I had no idea that would be the last time I would talk to him. But I told him that I loved him and that the church loved him. I hope he remembered that in those final moments.

I wished there was more I could have said or done. I trust that he is in the hands of a merciful God.

i am truly sorry about tim"s death.he was a nice guy,but a confused one.misleadership was totally responsable for that.his FRIENDS lied to him and so did his "shepard" .a tragedy

"Anonymous coward", we all see the fruits of "your" leadership. I wondered how long it would take one of you "2055 elitist" to jump on this tragedy. Congratulations, you folks have reached a new low which was thought to be unattainable. I guess when you set the bar so low anything's possible. Weather your leadership is temporary or not, shame on you and your leadership for acting this way. If our shepherd is to be judged for our acts then we should judge yours for the disgusting comment you left.

I totally agree with the statement that was made and your comment was just what i thought it would be because you want to blame everyone but yourself for letting him down.It surprises me that when he called his so called friends they were not sensitive enough to see the need,That seemed to be the only thing the person was saying,but of course you are too narrow minded to see that.

This is really sad. Jason, don't waste your time with these people. They don't get it and unfortunately probably never will. Just be thankful that both our families got out with their sanity.

For anyone else who might be trying to recover from a controling UPC church (this is not a bash against the UPC as there are some very good churches within the organization), or another cult like denomination, here are some sites you might want to visit.

Jesus is real, the gospel is real, and if by faith you let him lead you, you can be saved. It is not about a religious system or man made dogma; it is about the blood of Jesus Christ that purchased our salvation so that we can live in newness of life.

As far as who is to blame for Tim's death, I will blame no one. In the end a person is still given the freedom of choice to choose what path to walk down. You (anonymous) have also chosen suicide. Your weapon is a much slower killer; it is the weapon of self righteousness. You are dying every day by your own hands. Every time you point your finger to blame others for the mess you have created, you die a little more. Every time you attempt to justify your actions for committing countless spiritual murders you die a little more. The time is coming when you will wake up, look in the mirror and see nothing but a body that is waiting to die. Will you pull the trigger then? When that day comes, please call me. I promise I will be your friend in that time of need. Seriously! Although I may not care for you, I don’t wish any harm on you. I’m sure you have my number. Most of you do. A question for the anonymous cowards, do the puppet master and his puppet know that you are writing on this blog. I doubt they do. The Next Chapter

My pastor decided to resign this morning. Instead of forcing anyone to vote yes or no against the ministry, he resigned. Those of us in support of his ministry left the Greenville United Pentecostal Church and are starting a new work, Grace Apostolic Fellowship. Our first service this morning was held at a local funeral home. After all the jokes about raising the dead, etc, we ended up having a great service with 97 people in attendance. We are believing God for a permanent home in the next 30 days. I am sad to leave UPC. That church was a haven to me during a hard time in my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without many of the people there. Numerous people invested in me, and I am grateful. I will never forget the love, friendships, and lessons I learned while a member there. I will not belittle my past with bitterness and act as if it means nothing to me. No Greater Love

There is a biological clock that ticks.  Sometimes it's so faint, I don't even hear it.  Other times, its tick-tock is more like a sonic boom in my ears, reminding me that my "best years" are quickly slipping by. There have been times where I thought the clock's ticking was meaningless because my life was headed in the right direction.  The good guy in my life would lead to a proposal, house, family...to taking my rightful place in society.  Or, I was applying for jobs in big cities where I could live the single life seen in the movies...just fun and friends!
