Arms of Mercy!

Today, the man in charge of an outreach program called Arms of Mercy spoke to our Sunday School class. The man shared his testimony of how he became an alcoholic at the age of 15 and how his life slowly declined as a result. It was not until the early 90's that this man was able to put down the alcohol and turn his life over to God.

Now, this man has gone full time into reaching the dying souls of people that were just like him. He is currently doing street services on the roughest areas of Greenville, and his ministry is trying to begin a three-quarter home for men. He shared his dreams and told us what we could do to help it all become a reality.

I sat and cried with this man as he shared his burden and passion with out class. I couldn't help but think about how wide God's love is and how deep His Grace is that He would save us from our sins. Why shouldn't we want to share that with others. Even those that are the least in the Father's house!

The leader of Arms of Mercy also shared his issues with religion vs. Christianity. He said the difference between the two is that Religion tries to hide sins while Christianity reveals it for what it is. It was amazing that he touched on a lot of the same topics discussed in "So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore?" So many people have been hurt by so called "religion." It is our duty to show them that God is not religion. God is love.

Great things are in store for me, my church family, and my community. God is revealing Himself to me and opening up doors I never imagined possible. If you could only know all the turn arounds that have taken place once I came to terms with my problems. God is truly amazing!
